A 10-month investigation has resulted in the arrest of five men and the seizure of drugs, cash, and cars.
Coquitlam RCMP announced Thursday they had arrested three Coquitlam men and two Vancouver men following a probe into an alleged trafficking operation that involved cocaine, MDMA, and a number of other drugs. During the investigation, police searched three homes and seized $12,000 CAD, 1.5 kilograms of MDMA, and two vehicles.
Steve Sea-Hoon Lee, 25 of Coquitlam, is charged with 25 counts of trafficking a controlled substance. Shahab Karimi, 26 of Coquitlam, is charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled substance. Hasan Hazif Ersoy, 28 of Vancouver, is charged with four counts of trafficking a controlled substance.
Both Tiam Alivand, 24 of Vancouver, and Benjamine Greenlees Banico, 27 of Coquitlam, are charged with three counts each of trafficking a controlled substance.
Lee, Alivand, and Banico are expected back in Port Coquitlam court on June 6, while Karimi is to appear in Port Coquitlam court on May 26. Ersoy will appear in court in Vancouver on May 31.
