Mounties arrested seven people Tuesday in connection with an alleged drug-trafficking operation, after executing simultaneous search warrants across North Surrey.

Around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Surrey RCMP executed five search warrants at four apartment units in the 13300-block 102A Avenue, the 13700-block 107A Avenue and a home in the 12900-block 112A Avenue.

The warrants are connected to “an ongoing investigation into a drug-trafficking dial-a-dope operation,” said a release from the RCMP on Tuesday, and police arrested five men and two women, locating “evidence consistent with street-level drug trafficking.”

“The Surrey RCMP continues to make progress targeting those individuals involved in the drug trade,” said RCMP proactive enforcement officer Insp. Shawna Baher in the release.

The arrests are part of the Surrey RCMP’s “overt and covert enforcement action” to target those involved in the drug trade, the release said. The warrants were executed by members of several RCMP units, including Surrey RCMP’s Drug Unit, the Surrey Gang Enforcement Team, the Integrated Emergency Response Team and others.
