Additional charges have been approved against a Kelowna man who was arrested during a drug investigation earlier this year.
George Zacharias, 46, is now charged with an additional nine offences, including possession of a loaded or restricted firearm, six counts of possession of a firearm without a license, possession of prohibited ammunition without a license, and incorrectly storing firearms.
Zacharias had previously been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
In July 2017, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit began investigating Zacharias in relation to possible drug trafficking.
As a result of the probe, officers seized two kilograms of cocaine, a loaded Ruger 9 mm handgun, nine other firearms – including a shotgut, five rifles, two semi-automatic rifles – 2000 rounds of ammuniction, and one pound of packaged marijuana.
